Black Jacks Lock - Grand Union Canal by Alex Prowse 1974
Origianlly painted for the owner as a one off original watercolour. Both had studied at the Harrow School of Art (Later College) and both lived and worked on houseboats on the Grand Union canal in the 1970's. This signed, titled and framed orginal artwork is part of a private collection but would be sold for offers in excess of the original price as shown here. Taking inflation into account since 1974 and its increasing rareity what is its current real value today?
This is a rare opportunity to acquire an Alex Prowse original watercolour of the era which can only increase in value as the Inland Waterways become ever more popular.
Please not the current owner went on to become the Chairman of the Inland Waterways Association for Oxfordshire, as well as the Founder of the cross party Parliamentary Group at Westminster known as the River Thames APPG.
