Country Connection by Don Breckon

This is a collectable print by recognised and hugely popular Railway Artist Don Breckon

Very Nicely framed and glazed in the most excellent condition - Large and heavy 33" x 27" timber and gilt frame that must be worth £120  to £150 alone.

Very collectable category - there are many enthusiasts for Steam Railway images and this is a classic depicting a Great Western Steam Locomotive pulling two passenger carriages. In the station car park stands the waiting coach or bus connection whilst standing on the platform are milk churns ready for dispatch. One can almost smell the steam, hot oil and coal smoke emanating from the boiler  - a true delight for any enthusiast.

Don Breckon was born in 1935 in Northamptonshire and is married with three children. He trained at the Bath Academy of Art and went to teach art at schools in Bedford and Reading. His painting during this period ranged from city scapes to abstracts and other experimental work. He contributed regularly to local galleries and to open exhibitions and in 1969 he reduced his teaching to part time in order to develop his own painting.

His work was then becoming related to railway themes and was included in two travelling exhibitions at the Industrial Artists Group. Today his work is entirely involved with the railway scene and he has appeared on television and had two books published on his work.
