Midnight Moorings by Steve Good 1979
This 40 year old original oil on paper image is by Steve Good and is one of three using the same medium and colour palette. Once again we can see his love of boats, light on water, reflections and shadows created using "unmixed oil paint applied straight from the tube" combined with his beloved "finger painting and paint removal with rag" style, all techniques he has developed and become known for since his days as a 'Harrovian Hippy' at Harrow Art School (College) in the nineteen sixties.
All three paintings are in the Artists Private Collection but could be sold individually for offers greater than that price shown. Or maybe make an offer for all three?
Orignally painted in Norfolk whilst on Holiday, this artwork shows the tranquility of still water once safely moored up for the night. One of the other of this Trio is a scene dipicting the exact opposite, namely the most awfull storm at sea with huge waves, driving rain and dangerously high winds. The third image in this group depicts the sea and sky just around dusk when looking out from the sand dunes around the popular holiday destination area of Hemsby in 1979.
