WHILE BEST KNOWN FOR HIS OIL PAINTINGS OF CLOWNS, HE WAS ALSO A PROFICIENT WATERCOLOURIST. HIS ARTWORKS ARE USUALLY PAINTED IN SOFT TONES OFTEN WITH LIGHT BACKGROUND AND USING A FULL TEXTURE IMPASTO. HE PAINTED LARGE NUMBERS OF SMALLER PAINTINGS DURING 80'S AND JUST A FEW LARGER PIECES IN THE LATER STAGE OF HIS LIFE.
